2013 Summerfest Contest Fun!

Logan's annual Summerfest is happening again this week. And once again I decided to enter the photo contest. It's always a fun challenge to enter. Starting Monday you have to take, print, and deliver the photos ready to hang by Wednesday at noon. Whether you win or not I would encourage you to enter a juried contest for the challenge, because when we stretch ourselves we grow.

 

I always like to enter a personal project. Lately my personal projects have included kids and their imagination. What little boy wouldn't want to be Spiderman and scale the city walls.

Upon first look you may think I used some program like photoshop to create the zoom burst, but this is actually one photo with minor adjustments in lightroom. So how does one create this effect? You actually put the shutter speed to about 1/8 a second and zoom the lens while taking the shot. Try it one day. It may look cool to do a landscape of the city at night.
