Winter Steam Festival

The Winter Steam Festival over at Golden Spike was held this week. Here are a few photos I've
taken. I had imagined a thin layer of snow covering the ground and pretty blue skies...
instead everything was grey. It's a good thing I like black and white photos.

The 119 is a fully operational replica of the Union Pacific’s locomotive
that was present during the driving of the golden spike on May 10, 1869.

The handcar....looks kinda easy to long as your not going up hill, right?

The Speeder....also know as the track maintenance car.

If you would like to read more about Golden Spike clink on this link.

Christmas Cutie!

Baby L. is already 4 months old. It seems like yesterday I took her newborn pictures. She is growing up so fast. Before I know it she will be crawling. Isn't she a cutie in her Christmas Dress!

My Little Missionary!

So today the dishes are still dirty, the toys scattered across the floor, but that's okay. Ever since this cute little boy put on these clothes months ago, I have been wanting to take a picture of him. You know the kind of photo you see a young man in, right before he leaves to serve a mission. I love it when I invision something and it turns out as cute as I had hoped. Enjoy!

"I believe there is nothing in all the world that can compare with the joy that a man feels when he realizes
that he has been the instrument in the hands of the living God of reaching some honest heart,
inspiring in it a love of God and the desire to serve Him." -Heber J. Grant

Charity....Tis' the Season!

I love this time of year! It's amazing what the Holiday Season will do to people. We tend to think a little more about others and less about ourselves. It's like the world is a happier place for just a few weeks.

This weekend I was able to participate in a couple of service activities. Saturday morning as part of a world-wide Help-Portrait the Cache Valley Photographers went down and took pictures of people at the jail. It was a great opportunity for all of us. Not only were we able to donate our time to take and give pictures, they were able to give back to the community by donating to a local charity. And now they will have a photograph to encourage them to move forward toward greater things in life and a gift for a family member back home for the holidays.

In the afternoon I headed down to Magical Moon Toys where they were helping Toys for Tots. With a small donation the kids could come and get their photos taken with Star Wars Characters. It was great to see the excitment on the children's faces as they got to meet some of their favorite characters all while helping a great cause.

Christmas Cards!

I've been messing with photoshop and putting together some Christmas Cards. Enjoy!

The Jensen's

Wow... Tis the Season to be busy. I have never thought I would take as many portrait photos as I have lately, but I am thankful for the opportunities. I have learned so much in so little time about my camera some through success and others through mistakes. It's been a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures from last week.

Frosty Colors!

Burr... it was cold today. On my way to take some family pictures I couldn't resist stopping to take a few shots of these trees trying to hold onto their color amidst the frost.

A House Full of Laughter!

The Westwoods were an adorable family to photograph. What a cute, well-behaved bunch of kids! I am thankful for their patience in putting up with me as I strive to perfect my photography day I hope to have it down.

Black and White Sunset

I just happened to come across these photos tonight...they were taken back in September
but thought they were kinds fun. We drove out to the Benson Marina one night to
watch the sunset and the kids had a bunch of fun jumping into the air.

And there's the sunset.
