Macro Monday - Sunflowers!

At the end of the last school year my 1st grader brought home a sunflower seed. Every day she would water it, set it by the window, and watch it grow. It was a strong little plant...after being carried around the house one day the stem snapped....wrapping it in a bandaid I thought it would not live much longer. But it proved me wrong. Days went by and it continued to grow...eventually we planted it outside. And throughout the summer she took care of it....she was so excited when it started to flower. Here is her little sunflower plant.
